Last Friday, we bid a heartfelt farewell to our very first employee and co-founding director, Nishantha Amarasuriya, as he began a well-deserved retirement.
Nishantha, as one of the co-founding directors of CMS and its predecessors, has helped steer the company for nearly three decades. An old boy of Ananda College and a proud graduate of the University of Moratuwa, he has been deeply involved in shaping CMS into what it is today.
Over the years, Nishantha has taken charge of almost every function within the organisation, including HR, IT, accounts, and operations. An engineer at heart, he approaches every challenge with an engineering mindset, thinking beyond conventional boundaries and guiding the organisation through complex situations with clarity and foresight. His meticulous planning and steady guidance have been instrumental in keeping CMS strong and resilient for nearly 30 years.
Beyond his professional contributions, Nishantha is known across CMS as a humble, friendly and approachable individual. He never fails to greet colleagues with a smile and always makes time to stop and speak with people as he walks by.
Outside of work, Nishantha is a devoted husband and a proud father of two accomplished sons. While he may be retiring from CMS, this next chapter promises to be just as active, with many future projects and travels already planned.
On behalf of everyone at CMS, we extend our deepest gratitude to Nishantha for his leadership, dedication, and years of service, and we wish him happiness, good health, and fulfilment in all his future endeavours.
